Beautiful accommodation and location. Everything needed plus some. Lots of little details and extras not expected ie binoculars, info leaflets and umbrella showing how much thought and care they put into providing everything needed. Lovely treats for us on arrival including bread, lemon curd and lager. Great location for peace and quiet but loads of coastline to explore in short driving distance. We all had a fab time including our 2 dogs and wouldn’t hesitate to return/recommend.

I thoroughly recommend Laurie Cottage. It’s excellent value for money. Beautiful location and immaculate decoration. The back bedroom has the most fantastic balcony from which you can see amazing landscapes and the sea. There are really well appointed en-suite facilities for each of the two bedrooms as well as for the lounge downstairs. The kitchen is extremely large with a beautiful dining table and chairs. It has everything you need in terms of crockery, cooking implements and cutlery. It also has an excellent large cooker and hob as well as French windows that open on to the back garden. They enable you to see fantastic views of the countryside. There are sheep and horses close by to the house but Jules and Bob provide clear instructions regarding feeding or not feeding individual animals. There is a very comfortable lounge next to the kitchen which houses an enormous television. There is an excellent supply of books and games in the lounge so no excuse for boredom! Thank you.

We had a fantastic few days at the cottage! Great location for visiting Alnwick and all of Northumberland is within easy driving distance. Great base for exploring the area. Nice and quiet, secluded location, with an amazing pub 2 minute walk away. Property was spotless, clean, tidy and very spacious. Wonderful bathrooms and a huge kitchen and dining table, great for the evenings. Beds were comfortable and the balcony has an incredible view, especially for the morning sunrise! Jules was a superb host, check-in details were clear as crystal, had no issues at all. Even offered an early check-in which was thoroughly appreciated! The welcome treats in the fridge were also lovely - the homemade citrus curd was incredible!! Thank you very much for a wonderful stay, we will certainly be looking to book again. Highly recommended! :)

We had a brilliant stay at Laurie cottage, we visit the area every year to celebrate our anniversary and Laurie Cottage is the best accommodation we’ve stayed in so far! Julie was a fantastic host she was very attentive and prompt with her communication and was always on hand if needed. They’ve built a beautiful cottage, with everything and more you could need for a stay, the cottage was very clean, well kept and there were lovely touches added throughout that really made our stay perfect. We’d definitely recommend staying at Laurie Cottage!

Such a beautiful place to stay, calm and restful with amazing views. Nearby to lots of different places and towns. Handy for the Running Fox and Indians in shilbottle. Thank you so much for a wonderful few days.

Laurie Cottage has lovely views towards the sea, ample off-street parking, is appointed to a very high standard and has everything needed for a very comfortable stay. Jules kindly offered an earlier check in, responded quickly to email queries and provided a lovely ‘welcome pack’ which included her delicious lemon curd. For animal lovers, guests are invited to feed various livestock in adjacent fields. It was a great base for exploring the area - lovely spots both inland and by the sea. The A1 is close by which is very convenient and, although audible outside, is not intrusive inside. We would recommend Laurie Cottage as a very comfortable, spotless and attractive base from which to go out exploring this lovely area.

A huge thank you to Jules and Bob for a wonderful stay. The cottage is gorgeous - spotless, spacious and comfortable with great views over to the sea in the distance. The location is really handy for exploring Northumberland - as an exiled Geordie visiting family at Christmas it was just the ticket. Communication with Jules and Bob was very prompt and that was a lovely welcome package. Would definitely stay again!

We had an brilliant stay at Jules' and Bob's large and comfortable cottage, which is nestled in a beautiful landscape and has amazing views. It is well placed for exploring the area. Jules made us feel welcome and there were so many thoughtful touches like home made lemon curd and fresh bread for our arrival. They went out of their way to provide entertainment for our two young children, and were kind and gracious hosts. Thoroughly recommend, especially for families.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Laurie Cottage as a family with 2 children, and cannot recommend this property enough. It really is a 'home from home' and we loved all the little extra things the owners have thought of. They really have thought of everything, which was handy because we packed in a rush and forgot lots of things! Our hosts were brilliant, so helpful and friendly, and quick to reply to questions.

We made lots of lovely memories as a family here. We loved playing the board games with the big cosy blankets, having breakfast on the patio, and enjoying hot chocolates on the balcony watching the horses. The house itself was immaculate, cosy but spacious, and the views were just stunning. This was a perfect property and location for a family holiday, just a few minutes from the main road that took us all over this beautiful area.

Tips for families- our children loved Alnwick Gardens and the playground, Northumberlandia, Morpeth, Bamburgh Castle for a beach day and Seahouses for the crazy golf, arcades and chips. We also found a leisure centre in Cramlington with soft play, a fab swimming pool and bowling. Great for a rainy day and there's lots of shops there too. 5 minutes from the house was a great little playground in Swarland.

Thank you to our hosts for a wonderful stay, good luck, and I hope lots of people and families get to make happy memories here.

The Irelands ❤️
