We loved the house, which is very homely and Jules and Bob were great hosts. They welcomed us when we arrived and were always available to answer our questions. The lime curd and bread were delicious and much appreciated. we made use of the pub on three evenings and the food there was great, but you need to book. Despite the wind, rain and fog on the days of our stay, we enjoyed our January visit to beautiful Northumberland.

A beautiful property, very close to explore al areas of Northumbria and a 2 minute walk to the local pub which is also very good. Laurie Cottage is beautiful, with stunning views across the countryside. It is extremely well appointed, scrupulous clean and we loved the 'extras' that were left for us, especially the pot of lemon curd, which was delicious.

Jule's and Bob's cottage ticked every box for the four of us; we felt at home straight away. Every conceivable need seemed to have been thought of and attended to with care. Although the property is quite close to a busy road, we weren't troubled by traffic noise at all - and slept very well in the comfortable beds. Jules responded very quickly and helpfully to my queries throughout. 10/10 on all counts!

We had a brilliant stay at Laurie cottage, we visit the area every year to celebrate our anniversary and Laurie Cottage is the best accommodation we’ve stayed in so far! Julie was a fantastic host she was very attentive and prompt with her communication and was always on hand if needed. They’ve built a beautiful cottage, with everything and more you could need for a stay, the cottage was very clean, well kept and there were lovely touches added throughout that really made our stay perfect. We’d definitely recommend staying at Laurie Cottage!

Such a beautiful place to stay, calm and restful with amazing views. Nearby to lots of different places and towns. Handy for the Running Fox and Indians in shilbottle. Thank you so much for a wonderful few days.

Laurie Cottage has lovely views towards the sea, ample off-street parking, is appointed to a very high standard and has everything needed for a very comfortable stay. Jules kindly offered an earlier check in, responded quickly to email queries and provided a lovely ‘welcome pack’ which included her delicious lemon curd. For animal lovers, guests are invited to feed various livestock in adjacent fields. It was a great base for exploring the area - lovely spots both inland and by the sea. The A1 is close by which is very convenient and, although audible outside, is not intrusive inside. We would recommend Laurie Cottage as a very comfortable, spotless and attractive base from which to go out exploring this lovely area.

A huge thank you to Jules and Bob for a wonderful stay. The cottage is gorgeous - spotless, spacious and comfortable with great views over to the sea in the distance. The location is really handy for exploring Northumberland - as an exiled Geordie visiting family at Christmas it was just the ticket. Communication with Jules and Bob was very prompt and that was a lovely welcome package. Would definitely stay again!

We had an brilliant stay at Jules' and Bob's large and comfortable cottage, which is nestled in a beautiful landscape and has amazing views. It is well placed for exploring the area. Jules made us feel welcome and there were so many thoughtful touches like home made lemon curd and fresh bread for our arrival. They went out of their way to provide entertainment for our two young children, and were kind and gracious hosts. Thoroughly recommend, especially for families.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Laurie Cottage as a family with 2 children, and cannot recommend this property enough. It really is a 'home from home' and we loved all the little extra things the owners have thought of. They really have thought of everything, which was handy because we packed in a rush and forgot lots of things! Our hosts were brilliant, so helpful and friendly, and quick to reply to questions.

We made lots of lovely memories as a family here. We loved playing the board games with the big cosy blankets, having breakfast on the patio, and enjoying hot chocolates on the balcony watching the horses. The house itself was immaculate, cosy but spacious, and the views were just stunning. This was a perfect property and location for a family holiday, just a few minutes from the main road that took us all over this beautiful area.

Tips for families- our children loved Alnwick Gardens and the playground, Northumberlandia, Morpeth, Bamburgh Castle for a beach day and Seahouses for the crazy golf, arcades and chips. We also found a leisure centre in Cramlington with soft play, a fab swimming pool and bowling. Great for a rainy day and there's lots of shops there too. 5 minutes from the house was a great little playground in Swarland.

Thank you to our hosts for a wonderful stay, good luck, and I hope lots of people and families get to make happy memories here.

The Irelands ❤️
